Our two Clinical Care Coordinators and Clinical Manager are passionate and skilled and lead highly trained Specialist Learning Support Assistants in supporting children and young people with complex medical needs to access education in school or occasionally at home.<br><br><strong>Your Role And Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Use your skills and knowledge to train, monitor, and supervise the Specialist Learning Support Assistants assigned to you.</li><li>Delegate the medical interventions required to meet the needs of the children and young people on your caseload to non-clinical staff.</li><li>Work collaboratively with colleagues in education, health and social care, attending meetings, where necessary, to support the clinical needs of the child or young person.</li><li>Demonstrate your passion by championing the voices and experiences of children, young people, and their families to guide service development and planning as part of the senior team.</li><li>Work across various schools to support the team and maintain relationships with the school staff.</li><li>Line manage a small team of Specialist Learning Support Assistants across various school settings and be responsible for their professional development.</li><li>Regularly assess the skills and competencies of the team in a variety of medical interventions in line with the service guidelines and assessment frameworks.</li><li>Undertake relevant children and young people health care plans and risk assessments and staff in a variety of settings.</li><li>Ensure staff adhere to all policies and procedures relevant to the service.<br><br><br></li></ul><strong>You will need <br><br></strong><ul><li>Our ideal candidate will have a current Paediatric Nursing and Midwifery Council registration.</li><li>A mentorship or teaching qualification or experience.</li><li>Experience of working with people with complex medical needs who are reliant upon technology such as tracheostomy, gastrostomy feeding, jejunostomy feeding, non-invasive ventilation, oral suction, oxygen therapy.<br><br><br></li></ul>You can view a full list of requirements in the Job and Person Profile (JPP), see the 'how to apply' section below. If you believe you can succeed in this role, apply. We would appreciate the opportunity to consider your application.<br><br><strong>The team <br><br></strong><ul><li>We are part of the wider Community Health Services provided by Suffolk County Council with robust clinical governance in place.</li><li>The team is overseen by a Clinical Manager who is a registered nurse.</li><li>There are currently two Clinical Care Coordinators. (one full time and one part time) </li><li>The team consists of Specialist Learning Support Assistants who are matched to Children and young people and support them in a school setting or occasionally at home if they are too unwell to attend.</li><li>The Clinical Care Coordinators spend their time in schools with time each week to work from home or in the office.</li><li>We are a friendly, supportive and multi skilled team who are passionate about giving every child or young person the best opportunities in life.<br><br><br></li></ul><strong>Empowering Everyone <br><br></strong>We’re big believers in potential, possibility and the power of different ideas.
