Contract Surveyor

As a Contract Surveyor, you’ll play a key role in managing costs, overseeing procurement, and supporting the successful commercial delivery of residential projects.</p><p>You’ll work both independently and as part of a wider commercial team—ensuring cost certainty, maintaining accurate reporting, and collaborating closely with internal teams and external stakeholders.</p><p><strong>What you’ll do:</strong></p><ul><li><p>Manage subcontractor procurement, valuations, payments, remeasurements and final accounts</p></li><li><p>Prepare and maintain accurate cost value reconciliations (CVCs), cash flows and contract sum analyses</p></li><li><p>Support the negotiation of client final accounts and ensure effective documentation of change</p></li><li><p>Attend design and coordination meetings, providing commercial insight and risk awareness</p></li><li><p>Collaborate with Technical and Production teams to align commercial and programme goals</p></li><li><p>Ensure compliance with Hill processes, ISO9001 standards, and relevant legislation</p></li><li><p>Mentor junior team members and promote a culture of collaboration and improvement</p></li><li><p>Engage with subcontractors, ensuring timely communication, payments and issue resolution</p></li></ul><p><strong>What we’re looking for:</strong></p><ul><li><p>HND/HNC or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction or Building Studies</p></li><li><p>Experience in contract or quantity surveying in residential development</p></li><li><p>Working towards or full membership of RICS or CIOB (preferred)</p></li><li><p>Strong commercial awareness, numeracy and analytical skills</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of UK Building Regulations and Health & Safety requirements</p></li><li><p>Proficient in subcontract documentation, remeasurement, and value engineering</p></li><li><p>Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills</p></li><li><p>Familiarity with procurement planning, reporting tools and construction methodology</p></li></ul><p><strong>What you’ll get:</strong><br>- 26 days holiday plus bank holidays - with the opportunity to buy and sell more days.<br>- Private healthcare and wellbeing platform<br>- Hill Incentive Scheme and retail discounts<br>- Volunteering days and continuous learning opportunities<br>- A high-performing and supportive team culture</p><p><strong>Why Hill?</strong></p><p>At Hill, we offer more than just a job — we offer the opportunity to make a real and lasting impact.
