Drawing In/Knotting Operative

Job description

JOB PURPOSE

This role plays a vital part in the creation of Burberry’s iconic fabrics, supporting weaving preparation through precise knotting, drawing‑in and machine readiness. Working closely with the wider weaving team, you will help ensure smooth production flow, high quality standards and minimal downtime.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare weaving beams by operating knotting and drawing‑in machines to support efficient production start‑ups.
  • Ensure machines, accessories and work areas are maintained, cleaned and operated safely at all times.
  • Produce accurate loom sets using drawing‑in equipment, following production priorities and schedules.
  • Support weaving operations as needed, including cover during breaks or shifts to maintain continuity.
  • Follow and contribute to standard operating procedures, quality standards and documentation requirements.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement, training and team collaboration within the weaving area.
PERSONAL PROFILE
  • Experience in a textile or manufacturing environment, or a strong willingness to learn with training provided.
  • Comfortable working with machinery and following technical instructions and specifications.
  • A careful, detail‑focused approach with pride in producing high‑quality work.
  • A collaborative team member who communicates clearly and supports colleagues.
  • Adaptable and flexible to meet changing production needs and priorities.
